YOU are encouraged to use any version of the Bible you’d like!

You can Google the title and get many places that are selling them new or used. Especially if you’d like to avoid Amazon or other big stores.

Class Materials

Can I get a copy of the slides that Monte presents during class?

Yes! If you’re fully registered on CrowdCast with your name and email, you’ll automatically receive an email 24-48 hours after class with a downloadable PDF link to the slides.

*Note: If you register after the live class to watch the replay, your email may not be included in our download list. Please check your spam folder if you don’t receive the slides email within 48 hours. Patreon members can also access slides through Patreon.*

What Bible is Monte using in class?

Monte uses the SBL Study Bible, though you’re welcome to follow along with any translation you prefer. The passages Monte quotes may vary slightly from your version, but you’ll still be able to follow the discussion. The SBL Study Bible is available in both print and ebook formats from various retailers.

Where are the pre-readings?

Pre-readings are available in multiple locations:

– Weekly reminder emails (sent Monday or Tuesday)

– Patreon class reminder posts

– CrowdCast event page (click on the class title for detailed description)

Questions & Class Participation

Where can I submit a question for the after-class Q&A hour?

Look for the question icon (a chat square with a question mark) on the right side of your CrowdCast screen. Click there to submit your question.

Important: Please don’t submit questions in the regular chat – they scroll by too quickly for our moderator to catch, and questions there will be missed.

What kinds of questions will Monte answer?

– Questions about content covered during that evening’s class

– Requests to repeat or re-explain information from class

– Questions about history, geography, or historical figures from the time period being discussed

Why did my question get deleted from the Questions box?

Your question may have been removed if it falls into one of these categories:

Questions better answered elsewhere:

– Administrative questions (class times, replays, what Bible to use, etc.) – these are all answered on the Bible Studies page.

– Technical questions about CrowdCast (see troubleshooting below)

– Questions about Patreon functionality, please visit Patreon Support.

Requests for Monte’s opinion on movies, TV shows, videos, or books not directly related to class content
Personal life questions requesting advice or “scripts” (Monte is not a therapist; please consult appropriate professionals for personal guidance)

Did your question disappear after the moderator replied?

If the moderator responded with “question has been added to the list” and then your question disappeared, that’s great news! It means your question was added to Monte’s Q&A list and will be answered. The moderator marks it as “Done Answering” to keep the queue organized. Please don’t repost – your question is already on the list!

Why didn’t my question get answered during Q&A?
With limited time and high participation, Monte can’t answer every question submitted. Your question may not have been answered if:

Monte already addressed a similar question during Q&A
Time ran out before reaching your question in the queue
The question didn’t directly relate to that evening’s class content

Please don’t email your unanswered question to our team. Instead, we encourage you to:

Join Monte’s Patreon community where you can ask questions via DM or in community discussions
Post your question in our Discord server where community members often help each other
Save your question for a future class if it relates to upcoming content

Our community spaces are designed for ongoing discussion and learning between classes!

Can I use the “raise hand” function to speak during class or Q&A?
No. Bible Study classes are not interactive in that way – no attendees will be given stage access or verbal participation during class or Q&A time. Requests to share the stage or speak will not be granted. All participation happens through the written question submission feature only.

This format ensures Monte can teach effectively and that all attendees have equal access to ask questions through the designated system.

Technical Support

I’m having technical difficulties with CrowdCast. How do I fix them?

We’re not able to provide CrowdCast tech support, but here are common solutions:

Try these troubleshooting steps:

– Log out of CrowdCast and log back in

– **On mobile:** If using the app, try a mobile browser (Firefox or Chrome recommended). If using a browser, try the CrowdCast app instead

– **On computer:** Switch from Safari to another browser (Firefox or Chrome)

– Ensure your device software is up to date

– Ensure the CrowdCast app is up to date

– If problems persist on mobile, try switching to a laptop or desktop computer

Class Access & Cost

Do the Bible Studies cost anything?

No, the live classes are completely free to attend.

Are the Bible Study Classes recorded or available for replay?

Yes! Replays remain available for free on CrowdCast for 24-48 hours after each class. After that window, classes are moved to Patreon where members of any paying tier have lifetime access to all class recordings. Please see the next section, “How to Access Recorded Classes,” for more detailed instructions.

Accessibility

Is closed captioning available?

While CrowdCast doesn’t support closed captioning within their platform, they offer helpful workarounds. Please see their guide here: How to Enable Live Captions

Can Monte slow down? She talks so fast!

Monte’s enthusiasm for the material means she speaks quickly to cover as much information as possible in our one-hour timeframe. If you’re watching the replay, you can adjust the playback speed to a pace that works better for you.

Class Community Guidelines

I want to respectfully disagree with Monte during class. Is that okay?

Bible Study classes are designed as learning spaces, not debate forums. Many attendees are processing new perspectives on deeply held faith traditions and need a safe, supportive environment. We ask that you hold disagreements for processing outside of class time. This space prioritizes learning and vulnerability over debate.

Can I share my own religious documents or links in the comments?

No, thank you. These classes are Monte’s teaching space, and it’s not appropriate for others to use the platform to share their own materials or perspectives. Our community protects this learning environment, and persistent attempts to share unauthorized materials will result in warnings and potential blocking by our moderator.

How to Access Recorded Classes

Previous courses were recorded. So where are they?

Registered members of the class will have access for 24 hours to the recorded class, within CrowdCast.

This is to allow for people in different time zones to access the class for free.

If you did NOT register for the class on CrowdCast, then you can access the class one of two ways on Patreon.

If you do not have a Patreon account, please create one before proceeding!
